‘Fish For Lunch’ is back!
990am MAINSTREET RADIO
Thanks in large part to an overwhelming response by you to Mike Fisher’s recent appearance on 990 MainStreet radio, the ‘New Talk Station For North Texas’ is returning Fisher’s noon-to-3, Monday-through-Friday sports-talk show to DFW, starting Monday, March 22.
‘The best ratings we ever had at the old station from noon-to-3 – and believe me, we tried everything – was ‘Fish For Lunch,’ says Kevin McCarthy, the Dallas talk-show legend who hosts in his familiar 9-to-noon slot. ‘Fish is the perfect complement for a station we think will be a big hit.’
The locally-owned-and-operated 990 MainStreet radio will feature syndicated Don Imus in the morning, followed by the legendary McCarthy, then Fisher’s show, then another legend in David Gold, ‘The Conservative Freight Train.’ Chuck Cason takes over at 6 p.m., followed by the syndicated Michael Reagan at 9 a.m.
‘Fish For Lunch’ will be heavy on the Mavs and the NBA and the Cowboys and the NFL, and will rely on the help of newsmaking guests and FFFL’ers (‘Friends of Fish For Lunch’) such as Michael Irvin, Mike Modano and Mark Cuban, the three guests who appeared on his recent fill-in appearance.
Fisher has worked in the newspaper and magazine business since 1982 as a beat writer and columnist. He’s authored two books on the Dallas Cowboys, and started his Dallas radio career alongside McCarthy and Gold at 570 KLIF in 1995. He will continue his work on DallasBasketball.com.
