And The Other Shoe Drops: Josh Howard Speaks

'I Don't Know Why Everybody Is Ganging Up On Me,' Says J-Ho -- And Now, Mavs Fans, Do You Get The Picture?

Mike Fisher -- DB.com

Here’s your Josh Howard Homework Assignment for today, kids:

Read my piece detailing how the J-Ho camp is telling me they believe he’ll be traded by Feb. 18 (a belief so intense that they even pinpoint potential future teams the Raptors and Heat.) … I say there are talks, but there is also a “disconnect’’ and even some Howard “paranoia’’ at work.

Then read Art Garcia’s column on NBA.com – an interview with Josh covering much some of the same territory – that serves a virtual companion piece to what I wrote.

Are you getting the picture yet?

Three key quotes from Josh today that ought to help clear things up:

    1. “I don't know why everybody is ganging up on me."

    2. “They didn't give me a reason why they ain't starting me, so I don't know.’’

    3. “It ain't me. I know it ain't me."

Like I say. … there is a disconnect. There is paranoia. And there is the belief from Josh Howard that he’s going to be shipped out.

And now that Josh, via Art’s good work, has blown out of the water my attempts at subtlety, I’ll say this, too:

When Josh says, "I never said I don't want to be here," that’s not the truth.
