Time magazine asks the question: “Who are the world’s most influencial people in 2009?’’ And then it the top 200 candidates are listed – and the list is a fascinating, entertaining and completely nonsensical assemblage of celebritards mixed with geniuses, all-time superstars mixed with flash-in-the-pans.
One guy, however, stands out above all others to us. He’s just below Oprah and The Pregnant Man. He’sjust ahead of Kobe and the Dalai Lama.
He’s good ol’ No. 89. He’s ….
Mark Cuban!
The presence of Tony Cubes on Time's 100 list is justifiable enough; he's a major player in the sports world and in the business world. The magazine maybe should've asked around a bit, though, because Time’s justification for Mark’s presence on its list is rather uninspired:

AGE: 50
OCCUPATION: Entrepreneur
PREVIOUS APPEARANCES ON THE TIME 100: 0
PRO: As owner of the Dallas Mavericks, he cleaned house last year, firing coach Avery Johnson and picking up point guard Jason Kidd. But fans are reserving their judgment until they see if Cuban can bring the team back to the finals.
CON: Last fall, the SEC charged him with insider trading, and in January he received his umpteenth NBA fine, this time for yelling at a player. He also made Erick Dampier a gazillionaire. Nice move!
But Time invites you to vote Cuban up or down, allows you to cast your vote for Miley Cyrus vs. Barack Obama and in the end, makes about as much different in the world as internet Solitaire.
Which means it’s something less than "most influencial'' but something along the lines of a fun time-killer.
