It's Dirk's Birthday. And, Applying For Sole Custody Of Unborn Baby, It's Also His Father's Day

Today is Dirk Nowitzki’s birthday. And with the news that the Mavs superstar has apparently filed for sole custody of imprisoned Cristal Taylor’s unborn baby, today is also Dirk Nowitzki’s Father’s Day.

    According to a report in the Beaumont Enterprise, court documents filed in Dallas list the petitioner’s name as “D.N,’’ a resident of Dallas Coiunty. The respondent is identified as “C.T,’’ to apparently identify the woman who is Dirk’s former fiancée and now a Jefferson County inmate. Taylor was served with a petition meant to establish that Nowitzki is indeed the father -- which he wishes to have established, in which case he wishes fofr sole custody of the child.

   Taylor reportedly had a positive result on a pregnancy test administered to her when she was booked into the Dallas County jail in May on assorted charges after being arrested at the home of Nowitzki, who turns 31 today.
