   Where is Kris Humphries?

   I’m told he won’t be here. Nothing bad, I don’t think. The Mavs like him, he likes the Mavs, and a source who watched a recent AAC-basement scrimmage is raving to me about Humphries’ motor. (Echoing some of what Ro Blackman says here.) Apparently, Humphries’ schedule zigged when it should’ve zagged. Meaning, he forgot there was a press conference today.

   Guys, you should see this HD 1080 jumbotron screen! Each of the four panels is 30 feet wide by 19 feet high. And more – I’ll have photos up in a bit – it’s not just the overhead screen. The “end-zone’’ video screens are similarly impressive, and similarly massive, at 83 feet long and 23 feet high … with only one problem that I can anticipate: Previously, the end-zone screens were black, providing a dark background for shooters. Now … it’s very colorful, very bright … and maybe problematic?

   “That’s a good question,’’ Mavs VP of Operations Steve Letson. “We have thought of that. We don’t know the full effects yet. We’ll test it at Fan Jam (on Oct. 2).’’

And why do I look so grumpy?

   I blew out my ankle this weekend. Doing something heroic. (Stepping up a curb.) So I’m playing in pain. It’s the way I roll.
