Mavs' Jason Terry: 'Take A Good Look At My Mask!'

"If I miss the first shot, it might be coming off," Mavs guard Jason Terry said after Tuesday's practice, during which he wore his new protective mask. "Take a good look now. It might be the last you see of it."

Doctors apparently are advising Terry to wear the mask for the rest of this season to protect his face from further injury after orbital-bone surgery. Jet – or “Jet-I,’’ as some of his “Star Wars’’-referencing Mavs teammates have been calling him – is a superstitious type. If he plays well with the mask, he’s more likely to retain it. And otherwise?
Well, let’s hope he plays well with it.
